The Rebirth of Banda ng Bayan

Finally, after months of painstaking selection and critiquing of the collectively 500 contestants, Jason Fernandez weighs more upon the appraisal of quest jurors among lucky 13 finalist. With critical demands on such career, he is now on sleeve-up for it.

Now, that the line-up is complete for sure there are a lot questions about them. Here are some of the question that Ayelski from Pinoy Songhits asked the guys themselves.

Rivermaya provided some exciting clues as to what lies ahead for them.

You’ve started recording for your new album, how many percent you’ve done as of press time?

Japs: More than 50 percent na ‘yung natatapos namin. Marami ksing mga songs na halos tapos na rin kasi namin eh. May mixing na lang pero may iba pang songs na hindi pa rin nilia-lay-out.

Mark: Hindi pa namin alam kung ilan ung songs for that album, kaya medyo mahirap pa ipercentage kung nasan na kami.

Was there any shocking sounds for Rivermaya this time since you have a new member?

Japs: Sana magulat sila, hehehe
Mark: Magugulat sila kasi di ba ini expect nila (fans) siguro na isang boses lang ulit yung maririnig nila pero ngayon apat na, iba iba yung kanta..

What would be the carrier single for the album?

Mark: wala pa eh, bakit meron na ba?
Lizza Nakpil: Actually, we want to release three singles. We will include ‘Closer’ nag backup vocal si jayson, ’sugal ng kapalaran’, lead vocals dyan si Japs at si Jayson. We want to release a minimum of 2 singles, 2 music videos na sabay. We have to do that before the album comes out. So even if we come out January, definitely December may airing na.

What are the albums or artists in particular are you listening to while doing the album?

Mike: ako kasi ang pinapakinggan ko pa rin kung ano yung dati kong pinapakinggan kagaya ng ‘Muse’…

Mark: Yung dati pa rin pinapakinggan ko yung ‘Popsicle’, swedish band sila pero wala na sila. Tapos yung king of convenience jacj johnson, the whitest boy, coastal service, and Death Cab for Cutie.

Jayson: yung Queen

Japs: Lately? Yung bago ng Radiohead at saka lahat ng demo namin. Yung justice dragon.

Pupil Explodes the Wildlife

Everyday life is a jungle; from the very moment we wake up up to the things we need to do to survive and thrive the day down to the day we seek shelter and refuge once the need to call it a day arises. And that in a nutshell explains the idea behind the name of Pupil’s sophomore effort Wildlife.

“It’s called Wildlife because it celebrates life,” says guitarisr/vocalist Yan Yuzon. “Who we are is made up of an accidents and unforseen circumstances in life; the vibrance and chaos ng buhay. How our character is defined by how we react to these little circumstances”…

Wildlife is a denser, fleshed out and compact version of their dynamic and supercharged debut album Beautiful Machines. It features 12 cuts including the lead single Sala. The album was produced by original Teeth member and Yan and Ely’s former bandmate in the mongols, Jerome Velasco.
